These Are Not My Words is an alternative band from San Bernardino, California, born from a vision to build a community around music, collaboration, and opportunity. Originally formed as Soundcheck Underground, the project began as an after-school music club created to bring together musicians who shared a passion for creating and performing.

Founded by Andrew O’Keefe, the club was built alongside key members Cristal Garcia Canas, Adrian Alvarado , Omar Vasquez, and Isaiah Maldonado. What started as a small school initiative quickly evolved into something bigger—an environment where artists could connect, experiment, and form new bands. Andrew’s vision was simple but powerful: create a space where musicians could find one another, develop their sound, and gain real opportunities to perform.

Out of this collaborative spirit emerged These Are Not My Words, an alternative project rooted in creativity, community, and the energy of San Bernardino’s local music scene. The band represents more than just a group of musicians—it reflects a movement built on shared passion, artistic expression, and the belief that music can bring people together.
